Sharon Fire Department was dispatched for mutual aid early Thursday morning for a confirmed barn fire at the Scoville farm in Cornwall, CT. Cornwall fire and ambulance were dispatched to the scene first and immediately requested mutual aid from Falls Village, Goshen and Sharon. Sharon responded with Tower 1 and Engine 3 under the command of Assistant Chief Carl Wilson. Due to the setup location of Tower 1, an elevated attack over the main house was used to get water on the burning structure.  Tower 1 was able to darken down some of the heavily involved fire, but because of a heavy fire load of hay and a metal roof a ground attack proved to be more effective. The fire burned most of the day with overhaul operations going well into the night. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
