Sharon Fire received a call at about 5:50 am Sunday morning for smoke in a dwelling.   Engine 4 was the first unit on scene and called in to other responders that there was a fire in the floor under the fireplace. Being the Ellsworth section of town the chief called for a tanker from Cornwall and an additional engine for water supply. The department went to work very quickly and removed the hearth from the fire place to expose the burning beams. The fire was contained to right under the fire place and was extinguished very quickly.
